The Tulsa Boat, Sport & Travel Show continues to serve as a significant platform for businesses around Grand Lake to present innovative offerings. This event gathers a remarkable array of boat dealers from the southwestern region, showcasing new models and unique approaches to boating. Additionally, establishments like Pine Lodge Resort have utilized the show to introduce exciting amenities, such as hot tubs. This year, Grand Lake News Online is thrilled to be part of this vibrant event with the launch of our Grand Lake App, designed to consolidate essential information for lake users in a single, accessible location.

Lake Navigation
The development of this app was driven by a fundamental need for better navigation on Grand Lake. Equipped with GPS functionality, the map feature will display names of coves and landmarks. Boaters can now easily identify their location; for instance, pulling up to a dock and querying, “Is this Dripping Springs Cove?” will no longer pose a challenge. By simply tapping the app and selecting 'Grand Lake Places,' users will find their location clearly marked alongside nearby coves and landmarks. Moreover, the GPS locator dot will facilitate navigation to various destinations around the lake. For commercial partners, the app offers additional benefits such as identification features, web links, and push notifications to relay special offers and important updates.

Lake News
In an age where paper is becoming less prevalent, users can stay informed through the app's news tab. This feature will link directly to the latest stories and press releases from Grand Lake News Online. Each headline is clickable, leading users to full articles on our website.

Upcoming Events
Events play a crucial role in the allure of Grand Lake, and this section of the app is tailored to keep users informed about local happenings. By selecting the events tab, users will access the Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce event calendar. Curious about the schedule for fireworks at Duck Creek or when major events like the poker run or Welcome Back Weekend are set? All this information is just a tap away.

GRDA Emergency
While accidents on the lake are infrequent, prompt access to emergency services is essential during critical situations. This segment of the app connects users directly to an updated version of 911 or the non-emergency dispatch number in Vinita. Additionally, GRDA will leverage push notifications to communicate vital safety information to boaters on their phones—such as requests to avoid areas where incidents are being managed.

Lake Conditions
The Lake Conditions tab will offer detailed information regarding lake levels, inflows, and outflows. It will also provide direct access to current lake rules and fishing reports for Grand Lake enthusiasts.

Lake Weather
The weather feature within the app will deliver localized weather updates specific to Grand Lake, including forecasts, current temperatures, and radar information. This tool is essential for boaters needing timely updates about potential weather changes that could impact their outing.

The app will be launched at the upcoming boat show, where we will have a booth dedicated to assisting users in downloading it. This marks just the beginning of our offerings; we are exploring further enhancements that can increase its value for both Grand Lake visitors and commercial operators. Feedback is welcome, and we encourage attendees to stop by our booth at the show for a demonstration of how this app can enrich experiences in our beloved Grand Paradise.
